Guangzhou is set to carry out a unified one-month patriotic public health campaign across the city, with every Friday designated as the action day.

This campaign focuses on the prevention and control of dengue fever and chikungunya fever. Its objectives are to comprehensively clean up areas with poor environmental hygiene and mosquito breeding grounds in both urban and rural areas. It also aims to reduce the risks of infectious disease occurrence and spread, disseminate knowledge on disease prevention and healthy lifestyles, and create a clean and healthy urban-rural environment.

Regarding this campaign, the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission stated that the city will conduct an in-depth environmental sanitation cleanup. It will organize various districts, departments, and the public to carry out comprehensive cleaning of key areas such as office spaces, urban villages, and farmers' markets, removing stagnant water, garbage, and hidden mosquito habitats.

At the same time, efforts will be made to enhance the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases. The mosquito control work in public places and residential communities will be strengthened, with regular insecticide spraying and the installation of mosquito-killing lamps. The maintenance of mosquito prevention and control facilities will also be prioritized.

In addition, health education and publicity will be conducted. Through lectures, distribution of educational materials, and themed activities, knowledge about the patriotic public health campaign and infectious disease prevention will be widely disseminated.
