A reception was held on August 28 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou.
Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Zhang Guozhi extended sincere festive greetings and best wishes to the Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou and to all Vietnamese friends working, studying, and living in Guangdong.

She noted that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. The two countries have stood shoulder to shoulder, supporting each other through thick and thin, forging a profound bond of "comrades and brothers."
Notably, Zhang highlighted that as Guangdong's largest trading partner in ASEAN, the trade volume between Guangdong and Vietnam accounts for one-fifth of the national total. In 2024, this figure soared to USD 56.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%.
Guangdong is committed to working with the Vietnamese side to further facilitate two-way investment and trade, expand cooperation in emerging fields, and ensure that their mutually beneficial collaboration delivers greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.

In his welcome remarks, Nguyen Viet Dung, Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou, underlined that the close bonds between Vietnam and Guangdong are built not only on economic partnership but also on the cultural linkage and affection shared by both peoples.
He pointed out that Guangdong is one of the leading provinces in cooperating with Vietnam in sectors including economy and trade, culture, tourism, education and training, and more, noting that thousands of businesses from Guangdong have successfully invested in Vietnam and vice versa.

In the future, the Consul General warmly welcomes partners and investors from China, especially from Guangdong, to further invest and develop in Vietnam.
