The 16th Huizhou West Lake Spring Festival Lantern Show lit up on February 14, unveiling 36 themed lantern installations along a scenic viewing route. Blending light art with the lake's natural landscape, the event drew strong crowds, with peak on-site attendance reaching 11,582 visitors.

At the main entrance, twin galloping horse lanterns greet visitors in a dynamic display. Across the scenic area, banyan groves glow with vibrant lights, while lantern sets over the lake recreate scenes from renowned Chinese poet Su Dongpo's life in Huizhou, fusing cultural heritage with modern design.

According to the Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area Management Center, this year's installations are distributed across key locations, including the East Gate, Su Causeway, Sizhou Pagoda, Dongpo Garden, Xiangyiju Residence, Yanxia Causeway, Little North Gate, Diancui Islet, Fanghua Islet, and Fenghu Academy, forming an immersive lantern-viewing route.

Running through March 3, the lanterns illuminate the lake nightly from 18:30 to 22:30, showcasing a fusion of Song Dynasty aesthetics and contemporary styles.

"The lanterns make the festive atmosphere truly come alive," said visitor Mr. Liu, who described the event as a cherished annual family tradition.
